Ground Control will present their next no gi grappling event this Sunday at the Sugden Centre in Manchester. Organiser of this competition, Jason Tan, is excited about the September 11th offering, and the growth in popularity of the brand.
"I'm looking forward to it as always," noted the UFC-veteran. "It's definitely getting more popular now, and we may yet get a good superfight secured for this event on Sunday. If not, we have some great plans for next year!"
The MMA Academy Liverpool coach feels that every Ground Control is an improvement on the last, and that it will continue to get better in the future. He stated,
"Each one gets slightly better I think, but there is always room for improvement. The team will sit down after this next event and decide what is best for future events, how we can improve on things and generally make it a lot bigger."
Later this month, the world-renowned ADCC's will rock Nottingham, and Jason thinks this is a huge thing for no gi grappling in the UK.
"It's massive, really big, and I hope it's really busy. The whole of the UK Grappling and MMA community should be supportive."
To wrap up the interview, Tan wanted to remind people that it's not too late to enter.
"You can still compete this Sunday," he asserted. Turn up and pay on the day to compete in your division. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced divisions."
